Lawn Care Tips

Besides choosing the right lawn care company to provide you with a healthy and attractive lawn, there are a few thing the homeowner can do to help with the care of their lawn.

  1. Keep the grass cut at least 3 inches, which will help in keeping weeds and crabgrass down.
  2. Keep the mower blade sharp. A dull blade will shred the leaf blades, which can lead to insect and disease problems and will give the lawn a duller appearance.
  3. Keep the soil ph in the proper range, ideally 6.5-7.0. A low soil ph means the soil is acidic which will inhibit fertilizer efficiency.
  4. Have your soil tested on a periodic basis.
  5. Keep the turf thick through core aeration and seeding in the fall.
  6. Remove leaves in the late fall.
